THE Citizens of New-York are respectfully informed, that a meeting will take place on the 29th of January, 1825, at Harmony Hall, corner of Duane and William streets, to celebrate the Birth Day of the late Thomas Paine, (author of Common Sense and Rights of Man,) whose political writings and personal services so greatly contributed to the downfall of tyranny, and to the erection of the beautiful fabric of American Independence.
The Committee of Arrangements are anxious that order and friendship may prevail, and that the meeting be not considered hostile to any sect or party. They therefore appeal, to the good sense of the company in excluding all theological discussion on that day.
