William van der Weyde was a significant figure in early 20th-century Paine scholarship, best known as the editor and publisher of the influential ten-volume "Patriot's Edition" of The Life and Works of Thomas Paine, published by the Thomas Paine National Historical Association (TPNHA) in 1925, and he served as President of the TPNHA, preserving Paine's legacy for new generations.
